Do not copy and paste when requested

While doing my normal scrolling through Facebook this morning. I found the normal post's of proud mummy photo's or did you know this celebrity died, or I went to this pub last night and met up with friends. I also saw motivational pictures and read sad post's. I read the typical share this or share that post.

The ones that I scroll straight on by are the post's that ask me to comment "amen" or "Hi" or wish this little boy "Happy Birthday" or comment "no more" on a horrific picture of an animal that's been abused. The comment also has the words "copy and paste do not share if you are a caring person or don't if you are mean and cruel".

Now I am not, a horrible or mean person! It is just that I know what happens if we all copy and paste facebook posts. They are purposely written to induce an emotional response.
I read a similar blog to the one below a few years ago about this very subject and shared it, but of course like everything on facebook the post disappears after time among all the other posts so this time I decided to attach it to my blog so I could always find it. Then in a month or two when I see one of these posts being copied I will comment with this article address

An Except from the below blog:

When you simply share a post you like with your friends there is no way to track it further than your first share; no way to find out who else has shared it further on.

But if you copy and paste the post exactly, the potential future scammer can find you and target you.
There has been a “copy and paste” post going around recently about animal abuse. As well as the directive to “Do not share” but instead “copy and paste” this, the post contains a key phrase with incorrectly spelled words.

A person who copies and pastes it can easily be found by searching Google with the operand site:facebook.com “key phrase here”

The potential scammer can now see a long, long list of Facebook users who have copied and pasted the exact message about animal abuse.

Now they have a target list of people who they can be reasonably sure will react to a new post, and new “like” request, a new friend request, or some other “support us” plea that is related to animal abuse.

So you have self-selected that you are someone who cares about animal abuse and who is also perhaps a little gullible. You are now a target for a spammer and you are likely to soon be asked for money for some supposedly related cause.

To read more on this subject go to the link.

Do I share or do I copy and paste

After reading this I also realised you could be targetted by post's that contain a virus. So it is now your choice. Please share this and yes I said share this with all your friends.

Sit and Exercise

I have been interested in Health and Nutrition for many years and use Herbalife products as my chosen nutrition. Along with a low calorie and balanced 3rd meal.
I live a very sedate life and if like me your thoughts of going out and running a marathon is a totally alien concept, then you are definitely not on your own. We have 2 dogs that keep me busy, but I still feel that I stay still for way too long.

So if your working day consists of sitting behind a desk or in a car and the only exercise you get is walking to and from your car or getting up to make a tea/coffee, and there’s really not a great deal more exercise in between. Then you can benefit from trying the exercises below to try and keep your body fit and healthy while working on the computer or sitting watching T.V. or even sitting in the car driving.

Body Twist

Sit upright with your feet flat on the floor, put your left hand on your right shoulder and your right hand on the left shoulder. Without moving your hips, turn your upper body to the left as far as is comfortable and hold for five seconds. Then turn to the right and hold for five seconds. Repeat 10 times.

Arms and shoulders

A good stretch for your arms and shoulders is to brace your hands on the edge your desk, each about a shoulder width away from your body. Twist your hands in so they point toward your body and lean forward, hunching your shoulders. Take this a step further and push your shoulders and elbows closer to the desk.

Write with your toes

This is a fun one, take your shoes off and sit up straight with both feet on the floor. Raise your one foot high enough to be able to move it in all directions. Then with your big toe, write the numbers from 1 to 10, as you write the numbers stretch and curl your toes. Repeat this on your other foot. As you progress you may want to repeat writing the numbers 2-3 times. This helps strengthen and increases flexibility in your ankle's, feet, toes and Achilles tendons

Crunch and flex those Glutes and stomach muscles

This can be done anywhere when sitting, in the car, on the bus, on the train, or even when watching T.V. Sit up straight in your chair, with your feet flat on the floor or straight out in front of you. Pull up your backside muscles hold till the count of 10 then pull in your stomach muscles and hold till the count of 10. Relax, and repeat five to 10 times a day. As time goes forward you may wish to do this 2-3 times a day. Helps to flatten the stomach and shape your bum.

The wooden leg

Sitting slightly forward away from your backrest lift one leg at a time about 3 inches off the ground, imagine your leg is wooden by tightening your leg muscles and hold in place till the count of 10. Repeat up to ten times a day on each leg. Again you may wish to repeat this 2-3 times a day. This one works the muscles of the legs and it can also help with circulation.

Fly like a bird

Sit up straight with your feet flat on the floor. With your arms, out in front and fingers stretched out, move your arms to your sides, make 2 small circles clockwise, then move them back to the front and make a further 2 circles in an anti-clockwise direction. You can also move your arms over your head. Repeat 10-20 times. This one strengthens the shoulder and muscles in the upper back. increases blood circulation.

The neck stretch

To stretch your neck, slowly flex your head forward and backward, side to side and look right and left. Never roll your head around your neck––this could cause damage to the joints of the neck. This can be done almost any time to lessen tension and strain

Like any Exercise always start slow and don't overdo it, as too much exercise can have a detrimental effect. If any of these exercises cause pain stop immediately and contact a medical professional and seek advice.

To speed up checkouts at supermarkets

Our local LIdl has been rebuilt and I love the aesthetic lines of the building and the layout of the aisles. There seems to have been more thought put into the positions of some of the items. At no point do I want to say that these shops do not give value for money or do not have the unusual item of food as I do shop there on a regular basis. I just have a couple of small but important questions to ask.

1. Why put all soft items at the beginning of the shop like bread and fruit? They are just going to get squished in a full trolley!

2. Why have no long table at the end of the till? the cashier has to be good at Tetris, or wait for the customer while she packs into a bag or sweeps items into the trolley to pack into bags later.

3. If you are wanting to speed up the checkout, or get customers to pack at the tables maybe try lowering the cashier chair and get them to put items straight into the trolley/bag.

4.If you are wanting customers to go to a table and pack their items into a bag why would you make that table taller and thinner than the trolley? I tried it once and I would not do it again, my poor back and shoulder was hurting for hours later.

Thankfully my children are adults because if they were still small there is not a cats chance in hell I would take them to an Aldi or a Lidl. As good as my children were as small children you still needed eyes in your backside to watch where they were to keep them safe.

Add trying to pack shopping in bags at the speed the cashier goes, anybody who goes to these type of shops with small kids must be stressed to the limits.

Size is just a number

Powerful read (copied and shared by proud mum)

Last night I received a message pointing me in the direction of a posted link to read I must admit I was half asleep at the time so I read the first paragraph and gave myself a reminder to read the rest tomorrow as I was intrigued and impressed by the article. This morning my daughter asked me if I had read the article and what did I think and I replied I had read some of it and was impressed by it and would read the rest later but was curious why she had sent it to me.To which she replied that she had written it. I personally think this is a very powerful piece of writing but I may be biased now I know who has written it.

Most of us have the fear of going up a size in clothing. We put all out efforts getting into jeans that are far too small for us, allowing the ever-unflattering "muffin top" to overflow from the waist band. We lay down on our back's just to pull the zip up on the jeans that once pulled us in and now we push them out. We spend far too long attempting to zip up our favourite dress before giving up for a stretchier one; even then we're unhappy as our curves don't sit in "the right" places.

This ongoing struggle occurs every day in the fight against the idea of the next size up. We're so focused by the numbers on our clothes that we forget that they're supposed to make us feel happy in our own skin. They're supposed to look good on us - and us look good in them.

The feeling of having to buy the next size up whether it be in jeans, tops, underwear - it can be one of the worst feelings. Finding we fit in a smaller size can be one of the happiest times and finding we need a larger size can be one of the worst. We throw such horrible words at ourselves - ruining our own self-esteem before the world even sees it. Even the most outwardly confident women in the world, reduced to mess because of the way they see themselves.

But what if you decided to go up that size?

The sizing is on the inside of the jeans, the label is your little secret. Only you need to know that number! it is not your number. It doesn't define you. YOU DEFINE YOU. Nobody and nothing should stop you from loving yourself. Be you. Wear something that makes you look in the mirror and think good things - regardless of the size.

That one size up can be the difference between an overflowing muffin top and the smooth curves you go on diets to achieve. Want to lose weight? Do it, but don't do it for anyone else, don't do it for the size of your clothes, do it for yourself.

Don't fear the next size up in clothing, it'll flatter your body better than stuffing yourself into the clothes you don't want to say goodbye to.

Be happy in your skin, in your clothes, in your life.

Don't let the size of your clothes reduce the size of your confidence.

Healthy Recipe choices

When looking for healthy recipes and good honest food to feed your family regardless of whether you are a meat eater or a vegetarian. I have found that there is one website that I continually revert back to and that is http://www.bbcgoodfood.com There are many sites out there that promote specific ways of cooking like, casserole recipes or juicing recipes (which I personally think is just wrong) but I tend to always go back to this site. They offer the basic to the more complicated but they always explain in simple terms how to make it.
This is the recipe that I am going to try next.
